Karen's Story
Military
Karen is a 20 year decorated USAF & Gulf War Veteran, who retired at Eglin AFB here in the Florida Panhandle. She served with distinction, receiving the Joint Service Commendation, Meritorious Service and Air Force Commendation Medals. Fiscally responsible for multi-million dollar budgets and assets. Her numerous assignments included deployments in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Iraq. She served her Country with Honor. Her leadership has been lauded around the world and She will serve the residents of Northwest Florida with honor.
Business
Karen has been in Residential Real Estate in our area for 21 years. She specializes in military relocations, and closely monitors the communities affordable housing. Karen has served as the Chairwoman of the Realtors Political Action Committee, President of the Emerald Coast Women's Council of Realtors, and the State District Vice President, as well as the Chairwoman of Fair Housing Committee for the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors.
Community
Karen worked with the FWB Chamber of Commerce to establish the first Cultural Awareness Committee. She supports numerous local Fraternal and Sorority organizations, the NAACP, the Democratic Black Caucus, and is a member of both the Arts and Design Society of FWB and the Alliance of Ebony Artists. She has worked to organize the Art Gallery exhibit at the Hispanic Festivals and International Festival for several years. Karen was a delegate from Okaloosa county to the state Democratic Party convention, has worked diligently to expand voter registration and has been a poll worker in past elections.
